If something on Buk is yours and shouldn't be here, tell us and we'll take it down.

What to send

Write to [email protected] with:

  • Your name, postal address, phone number and email.
  • The work you own: a link to it, or a description if it isn't online.
  • Where it is on Buk: the web address you found it at, for example a buk.recipes/r/… page or a buk.recipes/api/uploads/… image.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by you, your agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the right or are authorized to act for the person who does.
  • Your signature. Typing your full name is enough.

Or send it to our designated agent:

What happens next

We act expeditiously on a complete notice — usually within one or two business days. We remove the material and tell the person whose account it was in what was removed and who asked.

A photograph we remove is gone from the recipe, from its share page and from every page and PDF made after that. We can't recall a book that has already been printed.

If you think we removed something by mistake

If something was taken out of your account and you believe that was a mistake, write to the same address with:

  • What was removed and where it was.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified.
  • Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address — or, if you're outside the United States, any district where Buk may be found — and that you'll accept service from the person who sent the complaint.
  • Your signature.

We'll send it to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within 14 business days that they've gone to court, we put the material back.

Repeat complaints

We may close the account of anyone whose uploads or imports we have had to remove more than once after valid complaints, and repeated valid complaints will close it. See the Terms.

Please be accurate

Under U.S. law, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for damages.

This address is for copyright. For anything else that shouldn't be on Buk, write to [email protected].
