Our first proof came back from the printer, and it showed three things worth fixing. If your photo fills the front cover or the back, it now runs a sixteenth of an inch onto the spine. Binding shifts by about that much, and on our copy it left a thin white line along the edge of both covers. The spine title stays where it was. The title page, the part pages and the last page no longer print a page number. They still count, so every page number in your contents and index stays the same. And when a dish’s name runs onto a second line in the index or the contents, its dots and page number now sit on that second line, right after the name.
